Foundation Review: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse
Skin Type: Oily combination
MAC foundation shade: NC44
This foundation shade: 026 Honey Beige
Since it’s summer here in Australia I wanted a foundation that wouldn’t make my skin appear any oilier so I was drawn to the word matte.
I love the feel of this foundation, when you touch it it feels like mousse, very soft and light. I like to apply this foundation with my Sigma Round Top Kabuki brush, the size fits perfectly in the pot and makes the foundation go on flawlessly and looks flawless on the skin.
The saying less is more applies perfectly with this foundation as too much can make it look cakey. This has medium coverage which I wouldn’t say is buildable because it can (as mentioned before) get cakey. Concealer is needed for any dark spots and I do apply some powder on my t-zone as it’s where I get oily the most.
Unfortunately the staying power for this is not good, for me it lasts about 4 hours even when applying primer and powder on  top.
When I first apply this foundation it does appear a shade lighter and slightly ashy but within a few minutes it oxidises and blends into the skin well.
Overall I do like this foundation but would not wear it for a long night out, it makes my skin look flawless and does not add any extra oil to my face.
